Short version: we don't sell your data and we don't ask for much of it. Long version below.
What we collect directly
Nothing. There is no login system, no accounts, and no forms that ask for your personal information. You don't give us anything by reading this site.
What third parties collect
Google AdSense
We display Google AdSense ads on some pages. Google uses cookies to serve ads based on your interests and prior visits to other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings.
Analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand how the site is used — which articles get read, where readers come from, whether the quiz works. It is privacy-first: it sets no cookies, does not fingerprint you, does not track you across other sites, and collects only aggregate data (page views, referrers, approximate country, device type). None of it is linked to any personal identifier.
Affiliate links
We participate in affiliate programs with the following services:
- Amazon Associates. Book recommendations link to Amazon with our affiliate tag. If you buy a book through our link, we earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.
- Online-Therapy.com and BetterHelp. Our therapy referrals are affiliate links. If you sign up through either, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.
We only recommend services we would recommend without the commission. These services have their own privacy policies that govern what they collect when you click through.
Cookies
We set no first-party tracking cookies of our own. Our analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics) is cookie-free. Cookies you do encounter come from third-party services when you interact with them (affiliate links you click, and Google AdSense if and when ads are enabled). You can disable cookies in your browser at any time; some site features (like personalized ads) won't work, but the content will.
Your rights
We don't hold personal data on you directly. If you have questions about what third parties may hold, or believe we've received something we shouldn't have, email our contact address.
For data collected by third parties (Google, Amazon, Online-Therapy.com, BetterHelp), please refer to their privacy policies and use their data-control tools directly.
Children
This site is written for adults — late teens, twenties, early thirties. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a minor has provided us with information, contact us and we'll remove it.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to how we handle data, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes will also be noted on the homepage briefly.
