Short version: we don't sell your data and we don't ask for much of it. Long version below.

What we collect directly

Almost nothing. The only thing you actively give us is your email address if you choose to subscribe to the newsletter. We use it to send you the newsletter. That's it. You can unsubscribe any time using the link in any email we send.

We don't have a login system. There are no accounts. We don't ask for your name, age, location, or anything else.

What third parties collect

Google AdSense

We display Google AdSense ads on some pages. Google uses cookies to serve ads based on your interests and prior visits to other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings.

Analytics

We use basic analytics to understand how the site is used — which articles get read, where readers come from, whether the quiz works. Analytics may set cookies and collect anonymized usage data (page views, referrers, approximate location, device type). We do not link this data to any personal identifier.

Affiliate links

We participate in two affiliate programs:

  • Amazon Associates. Book recommendations link to Amazon with our affiliate tag. If you buy a book through our link, we earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.
  • BetterHelp. Our therapy referral CTA is an affiliate link. We may earn a commission if you sign up.

These services have their own privacy policies that govern what they collect when you click through.

Cookies

Cookies on this site come from third-party services (AdSense, analytics, affiliate trackers) — we don't set any first-party cookies of our own beyond what's needed to make the site work (e.g., remembering reduced-motion preference). You can disable cookies in your browser at any time; some site features (like personalized ads) won't work, but the content will.

Your rights

If you've subscribed to the newsletter, you can unsubscribe any time, and we'll delete your email address. If you have questions about what we hold about you, email our contact address.

For data collected by third parties (Google, Amazon, BetterHelp), please refer to their privacy policies and use their data-control tools directly.

Children

This site is written for adults — late teens, twenties, early thirties. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a minor has provided us with information, contact us and we'll remove it.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to how we handle data, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes will also be noted on the homepage briefly.
